Adam Beach
Actor
Adam Beach, a member of the Saulteaux tribe, is from Manitoba, Canada. Adam has wide appeal as an actor in both Native and mainstream films and television shows. His work includes Squanto: A Warriors Tale (1994), Smoke Signals (1998), Joe Dirt (2001), Windtalkers (2002), and Clint Eastwood’s Flags of Our Fathers (2006).
When Mr. Beach isn’t filming, he visits children on reservations across North America. He is an advocate for the improvement of Indian health, and Mr. Beach encourages Native youth to exercise, eat right, stay away from drugs and alcohol, and to get an education. He believes it is the responsibility of Native people to invest in their youth and support them in whatever career choices they wish to pursue.
Mr. Beach is currently in the process of forming a new Native production company. His goal is to develop scripts—for film, television, cartoons, and radio—that will accurately portray Native culture and create career opportunities for Native people.
