Mitchell Gold

President
Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams

Before heading up his own company, Mitchell Gold was a furniture buyer at Bloomingdale’s and a manufacturing representative for Perugina Chocolates, as well as for the Lane Company.  Mr. Gold was also the gallery director and national accounts director for Lane.

In 1989, Mr. Gold and his business partner created The Mitchell Gold Company (now Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams) in Taylorsville, North Carolina.  The combination of Mr. Gold’s years of marketing experience with his partner’s talents as an art director set the course for the company and changed the furniture industry.  Just nine years later, Inc. magazine positioned The Mitchell Gold Company at number 57 on its list of the 500 fastest growing private companies.

Mr. Gold supports grassroots and national not-for-profits such as the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the Empire State Pride Agenda, the Design Industries Foundation for AIDS (DIFFA), Friends in Deed, the AIDS Leadership Foothills-Area Alliance (ALFA), the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, and the Leukemia Society.

In April 2005, Inc. magazine named Mr. Gold one of its 26 “Most Fascinating Entrepreneurs.”
