John G. Rice

John G. Rice is a vice chairman of GE, and president and CEO of GE Industrial, a leading provider of a broad range of products and services throughout the world. Mr. Rice began his General Electric career in 1978 as a member of the Financial Management Program, moving to the GE Corporate Audit Staff in 1981. In 1984, he joined GE Appliances and held various assignments in operations and consumer service.
In 1992, Mr. Rice was named president and CEO of GE’s Canadian appliance affiliate in Toronto, Canada. In 1994, he assumed leadership of the GE Corporate Audit Staff and one year later was appointed president of GE Plastics Asia/Pacific business headquarters in Singapore. Mr. Rice was appointed president and CEO of GE Transportation Systems in Erie, Pennsylvania in September 1997.
Mr. Rice is also serves as chairman of the U.S. Energy Association, a director of Emory Healthcare, chairman-elect of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, a trustee at the Woodruff Arts Center, a member of the Georgia Tech Board of Advisors, and a trustee at the Walker School.
